Grandparent's Day

What an exciting and busy day we had in Room 2. I don't think there have been that many people in the class before. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it and help with our learning today! It was really neat to see so many grandparents and I really appreciate you listening to stories and helping other children whose grandparents could make it. You really helped to make it a special day. Here are a few pictures from the day...

Hopefully all the creations for Mother's Day got home safely. 

Mother's are really special and the kids were excited about getting to make something to take home as a present. I hope you enjoyed reading the messages on the flowers! Here are some pictures with the completed bouquets... 

Notices coming home today...

Notices

There is a notice coming home today with info about a National Standards Parent Evening, Grandparent's Day and an assessment for learning evening. It has all the details about each event. If you didn't get your notice from your child, let me know and I'll get another one out to you ASAP :) 

Writing Experience Outside

Today for writing time we swapped our classroom for the hut building area. We took the clock down so we new when brain break was. Everyone has a great time exploring the hut building area to see what they could see, hear, feel, touch and smell. We recorded our ideas in our plan and will finish these stories tomorrow! Room 2 came up with lots of fantastic describing words to paint a picture for the reader. Well done Room 2!

 

Term 2 Week 2

Autumn Leaves

We have been learning about using dots to make pictures. First Room 2 had to draw a circle for the tree top. Next they had to use crayon to make the tree trunk and branches. Lastly they had to use cotton buds to make all the different autumn leaves. We're still working on the last part!

Enviro Leaders: 

We had "job applications" for being a part of the Enviro Group at school. Anyone who wanted to be in the group wrote about why they thought they would be suitable for the job - there could only be 2 from each class. Everyone got 2 votes and came and told the teacher quietly so no one else heard. The votes got counted up.

Back to School Term 2

Well done for completing a map on reading eggs! 

On Friday we had star time and Room 2 got to choose different creative activities to do in the afternoon. Some of the kids made some pretty awesome creations with our new blocks! There was lots of team work and sharing going on as well :) 

A big thank you to Gold Pine for donating and cutting the wood into blocks for Room 2!
